The following topic is very much belonging to today. There is a lot of dismay
and misery about in the world. Fire, floods and climate change is part of the
daily agenda. There is equal amount of dismay and misery amongst poor
communities; they do not understand why they are destitute while there are other
communities which are thriving. The question is why does this happen? This
question is answered by using the verses from the Quran the Final Testament;
Today happiness is measured by many
elements which include, success, self-esteem, ambition, wealth, staying healthy
and much more. All these are selfish motives, because these only benefit one
self. However, there are some, who feel good and happy by helping others and
doing charitable acts. These people are appreciative of what they have, and they
are on the right track. However, these same people only receive gratitude of
this world and nothing else. All there effort and work is left here on earth
when they die. It is quite possible that they are recognised and cherished by
the people who they helped; they may even be recognised by the world. But they
are not aware of what is happening in this world; because they are not here and
therefore they cannot enjoy their glory.
This scenario brings us to examine the
question of life after death. The three monotheist religions have their own
understanding of life after death. In this article we will look at the
perspective of Submitter and the life after death.
Indeed this prospective promises great
everlasting reward for those who do well in the world and live good clean life.
How do we know about this? We know about this when we read the Final Testament.
Indeed the Final Testament implies two
types of happiness “Transient” and “Permanent”.
The “Transient Happiness” only last in this world, while “Permanent
Happiness” continues after we leave this world and enter into eternal life of
the Hereafter.
So the question is how do we obtain
these two types of Happiness? The Final Testament is clear that the “Permanent
Happiness” happen to those who comply with the following verse;
Q [42:27] If GOD increased the
provision for His servants, they would transgress on earth. This is why He sends
it precisely measured to whomever He wills. He is fully Cognizant and Seer of
His servants.
Thus this happiness does not arrive by
extravagant wealth, but precisely measured wealth. This is because wealth could
corrupt or sway away from straight and narrow.
However, one might question this verse
based on the Old Testament where Solomon was provided with great wealth and
resources. The point here is that Solomon used all his wealth and resources to
progress the religion, until his dying day;
Q [34:14] When the
appointed time for his (Solomon’s) death came they had no clue that he had died.
Not until one of the animals tried to eat his staff and he fell down did the
Jinn’s realized that he was dead. They thus realized that if they really knew
the unseen they would have stopped working so hard as soon as he died.
Indeed after putting this point across
it makes the verse Q [42:27] valid, because God gave Solomon precisely measured
resources for the purpose of him using these resources to advance the worship of
God.
On the other hand “Transient
Happiness” comes about by complying with the following verses;
Q [6:42-45] We have sent (messengers)
to communities before you, and we put them to the test through adversity and
hardship, that they may implore. If only they implored when our test afflicted
them! Instead, their hearts were hardened, and the devil adorned their works in
their eyes. When they thus disregard the message given to them, we open for them
the gates of everything. Then, just as they rejoice in what was given to them,
we punish them suddenly; they become utterly stunned.
The wicked are thus annihilated. Praise be to GOD, Lord of the worlds.
Our purpose on earth is to search and
follow the message from God, for example majority of the people in this world
have received a messenger in the form of human or a book. The three prominent
books as messengers are Torah, Gospel and the Quran (The Final Testament). We
know from scripture that when a new book is revealed by God, this book is an
update to the previous books. Therefore it only makes sense that the Torah and
Gospel should only be followed as long as it conforms to the Quran (The Final
Testament). Indeed Quran (The Final Testament) being the final word of God on
earth is a panacea for all religions. Therefore if we do not follow the
scriptures as they should be then we could be in the category of those who are
of “Transient Happiness”. Following the Quran, is very simple and easy, living
good clean life, not setting up idols and being aware of God. However, there are
those who follow the rites of Submission, obviously they are rewarded more. But
it is not essential practice the religion. The Final Testament is clear that
belief in God, without any other idols is enough to make it to Heaven and have a
good happy life here.
But why not all the people of this
category “Transient Happiness” given as much as the few who are wealthy? For
this question the answer lies in the following verse;
Q [17:30] For your Lord increases the
provision for anyone He chooses, and reduces it. He is fully Cognizant of His
creatures, Seer.
In fact in varying people in wealth,
is Great Wisdom of God, because by varying the wealth in people under different
circumstances brings about the true nature of humans. Poverty might affect
certain people in certain way. By exposing people to varied wealth, lessons can
be learnt which could benefit mankind. Take an example of homelessness in UK.
Because of the few destitute homeless people, many people are encouraged to
create a society where there is no homelessness and everyone has enough to eat.
Also by showing poverty to some could encourage humility and humbleness in those
people which are all traits of Submission, so that they are saved.
A believer might ask a question why we
are tested before the age of forty, even though before the age of forty we will
not be accounted for our sins;
[46:15] We
enjoined the human being to honour his parents. His mother bore him arduously
gave birth to him arduously and took intimate care of him for thirty months.
When he reaches maturity and reaches the age of forty he should say "My Lord
direct me to appreciate the blessings You have bestowed upon me and upon my
parents and to do the good works that please You. Let my children be upright as
well. I have repented to You; I am a
submitter."
*the age of responsibility starts at 40 years, since one has not
submitted to God before this age, one is not responsible for their deeds; this
is God’s immense Mercy on human kind. Since one has been not responsible of any
sin before the age of 40, anyone who dies before the age of 40 years regardless
of any religion, creed, colour or race will enter Paradise. **Al-Muzzammil
Let’s look at this situation where
some of us go through trials in this life even before the age of 40 years.
Habits are hard to change, one cannot guarantee that one can be righteous at 40
years of age and above, while, one was sinful all the previous life!! Generally
speaking, people are either good or bad all their lives. There is an exception
to this rule where a bad person turns into humble conscientious person because
of some event which took place in his/her life. However, this cannot be
guaranteed to happen to everyone. Therefore, by being tested before the age of
40 years has merit in it, and will keep the righteous on the straight and
narrow. Quran sums up this, scenario neatly in just two short verses;
Q [94:5] With pain there is gain.
Q [94:6] Indeed, with pain there is
gain.
Prosperity and wellbeing of
communities is at the forefront of all our minds. The question arises why some
communities are better off than other communities? Quran (The Final Testament)
gives an example of one such episode where a community suffered because of what
they did;
Q [7:163]
Remind them of the community by the sea, who desecrated the Sabbath. When
they observed the Sabbath, the fish came to them abundantly. And when they
violated the Sabbath, the fish did not come. We thus afflicted them, as a
consequence of their transgression.
Indeed community who live by the Laws
of God prosper whilst those communities which don’t live by the law of God
suffer. But there is another example in the Final Testament which states that
those communities which are unappreciative of God’s provisions also suffer;
Q [34:15 - 19]
Sheba's homeland used to be a marvel, with two gardens on the right and
the left. Eat from your Lord's provisions, and be appreciative of Him - good
land, and a forgiving Lord. They turned away and, consequently, we poured upon
them a disastrous flood, and we substituted their two gardens into two gardens
of bad tasting fruits, thorny plants, and a skimpy harvest. We thus requited
them for their disbelief. Do we not requite only the disbelievers? We placed
between them and the communities that we blessed other oases, and we secured the
journey between them: "Travel therein days and nights in complete security." But
they (turned unappreciative and) challenged: "Our Lord, we do not care if You
increase the distance of our journeys (without any stations)." They thus wronged
their own souls. Consequently, we made them history, and scattered them into
small communities throughout the land. This should provide lessons for those who
are steadfast, appreciative.

is 4 “Act of
righteousness”, indeed what happened to Sheba’s people was right. The Temporal
connection suggests that this happened long time ago before the Quran was
revealed. This is the reason why the chapter and verse (34:19) is left most and
the geometric values are right most. Indeed only the disbelievers are
un-appreciative. **Al-Muzzammil
Quran emphasises a fact that this life is temporary and when we die all this
wealth we obtained is left here on earth whilst only our deeds are examined by
God for either a reward or to our detriment;
Q [3:196 - 197] Do not be impressed by
the apparent success of disbelievers. They only enjoy temporarily, then end up
in Hell; what a miserable destiny!
There are real life situations
existing today as implied by the verses Q (34:15 – 19). For example the people
in the West are well to do and live reasonably happy life, these are the same
people who regard human rights, respect human values, they are charitable and
mostly they are good honest people. All
these are signs of being appreciative.
Whilst on the other hand people of the
third world countries are quite the opposite, bribery and corruption is rife
among the officials, who influence poor people to reward them in exchange for
the jobs they do for them, in addition to what they are paid by their employers.
These same officials do not regard human rights and human values. They take upon
themselves great burden of sins without realising it. These same people bring
downfall to their country and destitution to their fellow citizens. They should
know that if they abide by the laws of God, which is to live good honest life,
without corruption and bribery, God will provide for them manifold. However,
because these people are unappreciative, there community suffers. As a result of
their leaders communities dispute and fight amongst themselves. And the only
victims of these are the common people who have to leave their homes and
belongings because of the war imposed on them by their corrupt and land greedy
war lords.
Some of these destitute people get
killed. However, this is mercy in some instances. The Final Testament verse Q
(46:15) stipulates God’s mercy on some people who die before the age of 40
years, because according to this verse they go straight to Heaven. These same
people leave the misery and horrors of this world to live in Paradise, which is
magnificent.
Q [43:33 - 35] If it were not that all
the people might become one (disbelieving) congregation, we would have granted
everyone who disbelieves in the Most Gracious mansions with silver roofs, and
stairs upon which they could climb. Their mansions would have impressive gates,
and luxurious furnishings. Also many
ornaments all these are the temporary materials of this lowly life. The
Hereafter - at your Lord - is far better for the righteous.
